 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results. COURT CONVICTS MAN FOR IMPERSONATIN NITDA OFFICIALS IN GOMBE.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE..

Justice J.Awak of the Gombe State High Court, Gombe on August 2, 2021 convicted and sentenced one Ahmed Mohammed Mu'azu to three months imprisonment on one-count charge of attempt to impersonate officials of National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).


The offence is contrary to Section 95 and Punishable under the same Section of Penal Code Law.


The defendant  sometime in 2019, under the guise of empowering the youths through a  Non-Governmental Organization, '' Youth Empowerment Capacity Building Organization of Nigeria'', Gombe branch promised unsuspecting members of the public training opportunities at NITDA, charging  N1,000 (One Thousand Naira) per participant.


Unfortunately, before he could execute his nefarious scheme, operatives of the Commission, arrested him in a sting operation facilitated through credible intelligence.

He pleaded guilty to the charge upon arraignment and was subsequently convicted and sentenced to three months imprisonment. The judge, however, gave him an option of fine of N10, 000.00 (Ten Thousand Naira).
