 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results. One Dead As Car Rams Into Parked Dump Truck In Awka



It was a tragic evening in Awka, around the Dr Godwin Maduka Foundation axis of new Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, after a Toyota Camry Spider rammed into a dump truck parked beside the expressway, leaving one person dead.

According to bystanders and eyewitnesses, the Toyota Camry driver had lost speed, then ran over a man as it made its way to the parked dump truck.

The victim, a man in his late thirties, simply identified as Ebuka, was said to had alighted from a commercial bus, minutes before the tragedy.

The victim, who was smashed into the drainage on the side of the road died instantly, while the driver of the Toyota Camry who was said to be in critical condition, was rushed to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka, same as the body of the deceased.

Men of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, alongside other persons were around to help.
