‘I’ve Asked Him Twice’ – Sowunmi Opens Up on Atiku’s 2027 Presidential Ambitions

Segun Sowunmi, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar's presidential campaign, has disclosed that he has approached the former Vice President twice regarding his plans for the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking candidly, Sowunmi explained that Atiku, a veteran politician, remains undecided, taking time to reflect on his next political move.

“Atiku Abubakar is a man I deeply admire. His resolve and endurance in the face of political challenges are remarkable,” Sowunmi stated. “I asked him directly, ‘Are you running again? If yes, how do we prepare? If no, how do we restructure the PDP strategy?’ He hasn’t given me an answer yet, and I respect his thought process.”

Sowunmi emphasized the weight of the decision Atiku faces, noting his extensive political journey and the betrayals he has encountered over the years. “It’s not a light decision. Anyone in his position must deeply reflect before making such a commitment. When Atiku decides, we will align with his vision and take the necessary steps.”

Despite his silence, many political observers interpret Atiku’s body language as a signal that he is considering another run
