 SDP PARLEYS MEDIA AHEAD OF 2027 GENERAL ELECTIONS  The Social Democratic Party, SDP has disassociated itself from those calling for the rescheduling of the 2027 general elections due to the confirmed case of Ebola in Nigeria. A statement by the Presidential candidate of the Party, Prince Adewole Adebayo indicates that just one case of the disease recorded is not enough to cancel or reschedule the election that is already at hand, as the situation is not yet a pandemic. He explains that the country has the ability to take care of the situation. The statement further encourages the media to be as independent and unbiased as possible in reporting the forthcoming general election. It emphasises the media's role in sustaining democratic governance in the country. The SDP Presidential candidate encourages media practitioners to get acquainted with the party's manifesto and enlighten the public adequately, enabling them to actively engage the party during campaigns.

BOLANLE AMBODE ADVOCATES FOR THE ERADICATION OF FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION BY 2030.{PHOTO}.

      Wife of the governor of Lagos State, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode, has expressed optimism that Female Genital Mutilation could be stamped out of Africa by 2030 if all individual and institutional stakeholders worked together towards achieving the objective.
Speaking at a ceremony organised to mark this year’s International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in Alausa, Ikeja, Mrs. Ambode noted that, although the practice was well entrenched in the continent, with some countries recording up to 90% prevalence among girls and women, the situation was not hopeless if the current advocacy was sustained or increased.
According to her, “The pace of penetration of awareness seems slow because the practice is an ancient one, deeply rooted in our various cultures but that does not make our efforts fruitless. Though progress may be slow, we are going somewhere as rural women, mothers and young girls, are becoming aware of the severe health implications of the barbaric practice”.
“A Few years ago, many women, even some educated ones, saw it as a normal and socially acceptable practice but the story is fast changing, as awareness is getting mileage and rural women are now campaigning against it”, she declared.
The governor’s wife implored governments to fight the practice with direct legislation, in the manner they are doing with some other wicked anti-female practices.
She reminded everyone that FGM constituted an extreme form of discrimination against women and girls, directly violating their rights to health, security and physical integrity, wondering why women should be subjected to such life-threatening dehumanization.
She contended that mothers, fathers and NGOs, must continue to voice their concern and governments must put in place the right statutes, for total eradication of the practice in our country and the continent by 2030.Recall that February 6 of every year, was set aside by the United Nations as the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation across the world.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
