Water Crisis Deepens in Nasarawa Eggon as Residents Resort to Unsafe Sources Residents of Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area in Nasarawa State are grappling with severe water scarcity, resorting to stagnant ponds and muddy pools for their daily needs due to the collapse of public water infrastructure. Communities now rely on contaminated water for drinking, cooking, and bathing, raising serious health concerns. Locals described the water as foul-smelling and visibly dirty, but said they have no alternatives. “We’ve not had tap water in over two months,” said Adefu Ruth, a resident of Angwan Kuje. “We’re forced to use this dirty water.” Despite the presence of elected officials and the Commissioner for Water Resources—an indigene of the area—residents say there has been no visible intervention. Pete Edochie speaks on sudden death of grandson — Yul Edochie’s son, Kambili

Legendary Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie has said his grandson Kambilichukwu Edochie was an ‘unusual’ child.

Yul Edochie, yesterday, lost his first son, Kambilichukwu Edochie.

Confirming the sad news yesterday, Pete said his son, Yul, called him on the telephone, Wednesday, informing him that Kambilichukwu fell down while playing football with his school mates and developed a seizure.

According to him, the deceased was rushed to the Mother and Child Hospital, Lagos, where he died hours later.

Kambili died two months after Edochie celebrated his 16th birthday with his wife, Mary Edochie.

He said his family started praying for the child immediately Yul called him on the telephone about the sad incident.

Edochie said: “Kambilinachukwu is a very quiet, brilliant and talented child. He’s not somebody you can ride easily. He doesn’t get angry no matter the situation.

He may change his composure, but he was definitely a very unusual person in so many respects.

“He was so accomplished. I always tell my son that I don’t like people excelling like this in any thing they are involved in. Experience has taught me that such people don’t last long.”

Edochie said it was unfortunate that his grandson died while he had shown great promise. 

Meanwhile, both Yul and his first wife, May, haven’t broken their silence since the incident.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
