 France records first Ebola case in doctor returning from DR Congo France confirmed its first imported Ebola case after a humanitarian doctor returned from a mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Health Ministry said Wednesday, Anadolu Agency reported. The patient, who had returned from an area where the virus is circulating in Congo, was immediately admitted to a specialised healthcare facility and is in stable condition, the ministry said in a statement. “All precautionary measures, including the patient's isolation, were taken upon his arrival in the country,” it added, saying the transfer to hospital was carried out under secure conditions to prevent any risk of contamination. French health authorities said a full epidemiological investigation is underway to identify people who may have been in contact with the patient.  Tinubu Submits ₦1.481 Trillion Rivers State 2025 Budget to National Assembly


President Bola Tinubu has formally presented the 2025 Appropriation Bill for Rivers State to the National Assembly for consideration, following the suspension of the state’s House of Assembly. The proposed budget, totaling ₦1.481 trillion, was submitted in a letter addressed to Senate President Goodwill Akpabio, with a call for expeditious review.


The budget prioritizes key sectors, with infrastructure receiving the largest allocation of ₦324 billion to drive development projects. The health sector is allocated ₦106 billion, including ₦5 billion designated for free malaria drugs. Education is set to receive ₦75.6 billion, while agricultural development is proposed at ₦31.4 billion. According to the proposal, these investments aim to create approximately 6,000 new jobs and foster growth in critical areas.


President Tinubu urged the National Assembly to prioritize the bill’s consideration to ensure timely implementation. The Senate has referred the budget to its Ad-hoc Committee on Emergency Rule, with directives to review the proposal and provide a report to the chamber as soon as possible.
