Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed.  Ford to unveil more details about new low-cost electric vehicles on August 11

Ford is gearing up to share more details about its new line of affordable electric vehicles at an event in Kentucky on August 11. CEO Jim Farley has described the upcoming announcement as a “Model T moment” for the company, signaling a significant shift in Ford’s approach to electric vehicles.

Despite posting a $1.3 billion loss in its electric vehicle division during the second quarter of 2025 and facing declining sales of key models like the F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E, Ford remains focused on expanding its EV lineup. The company revealed in early 2024 that it has a dedicated team, led by former Tesla executive Alan Clarke, working on a low-cost EV platform. The first vehicle from this effort is expected to be a mid-size pickup truck arriving in 2027, with plans to develop multiple models for both retail and commercial use, featuring advanced digital experiences. While affordable EVs remain scarce in the U.S. market today, Ford’s upcoming vehicles aim to change that landscape in the coming years amid growing competition from Tesla, General Motors, and newer startups.
