2027: I WON'T CONTEST BENUE NORTH-WEST SENATE WITHOUT CONSULTING GOD—EX-GOVERNOR ORTOM  The immediate past Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has clarified that he has no current plans to contest the Benue North-West senatorial seat in 2027, stating that any future political decision would depend on divine direction. The clarification follows widespread speculation on social media suggesting that Ortom was preparing for another senatorial bid. The former governor, who served between 2015 and 2023, had contested the same seat in 2023 but lost to Titus Zam. In a statement released on Saturday by his media aide, Terver Akase, Ortom dismissed claims of a confirmed ambition, describing them as inaccurate. The statement stressed that while Ortom is not actively seeking elective office, he would only consider such a move after “consulting God.” Akase added that the former governor remains focused on supporting his party and contributing to governance through advisory roles rathe...

HARRIS COUNTY JUDGE LINA HIDALGO SAYS SHE WAS 'KICKED OUT' OF HOUSTON RODEO CONCERT AND 'MANHANDLED'. (PHOTO).

Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo says she was 'kicked out' of Houston Rodeo concert and 'manhandled'

Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo says she was forced to leave the Houston Rodeo after being denied entry to a Megan Moroney concert at NRG Stadium.

In a since-deleted Facebook post, Hidalgo claimed she was “manhandled” when she and her guests, including two children, attempted to access a restricted area reserved for premium “chute seat” ticket holders.

Rodeo officials stated that Hidalgo was redirected to her assigned seating, but she insisted she was “kicked out” after being threatened with arrest.

Hidalgo argued the incident may have been politically motivated or tied to gender bias, noting that male county executives would not have been treated the same way.

She pointed out that Harris County owns NRG Stadium and that county officials, including herself, have previously enjoyed free access to events there, such as a BeyoncĂ© concert in 2023.

In her post, Hidalgo criticized rodeo security and leadership, saying the confrontation reflected deeper issues of respect and fairness.

The judge ended her statement by calling on the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo to disclose how much it has charged past county judges for concert access.

While rodeo representatives maintained that Hidalgo was simply denied entry to a premium seating area, her account of being physically shoved and removed has sparked questions about the handling of the situation and whether politics played a role in her treatment.
