A former aspirant for the Kaura Constituency seat in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Dr. Nathaniel Bakura, popularly known as Napo, has announced his withdrawal from the race and declared total support for Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, and the incumbent lawmaker representing Kaura Constituency, Yusufu Mugu.
In a press release issued on Sunday, Bakura said the decision followed extensive consultations with political stakeholders, supporters, community leaders and associates across Kaura Constituency.
According to him, the move was made in the interest of unity, peace and the continued progress of Kaura Constituency and Kaduna State.
He explained that strengthening party unity and supporting the progressive leadership of Governor Uba Sani informed his decision to back Rt. Hon. Yusuf Mugu for another term in office.
Bakura described the decision as a demonstration of sacrifice, political maturity and commitment to placing the collective interest of the people above personal ambition.
As part of the development, he announced the dissolution of his political campaign structure and directed all coordinators, supporters, youth and women groups, stakeholders and political allies across the constituency to align with the political structure of Yusuf Mugu.
He also instructed all media and communication platforms associated with his political movement to work in synergy with Mugu’s media team towards effective mobilization and public engagement.
The former aspirant expressed appreciation to his supporters for their loyalty, prayers and encouragement throughout his consultations and political engagements, assuring them that the decision was taken with the future development of Kaura Constituency in mind.
Bakura further called on party members, youths, women and residents of the constituency to remain peaceful, united and committed to supporting the current administration in Kaduna State.
He also urged the people of Kaura Constituency to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani in their efforts to promote good governance, infrastructural development and inclusive leadership across the country and Kaduna State.
