Wike taking loans for FCT without National Assembly approval – Kingibe alleges The senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Ireti Kingibe, has alleged that the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has been taking loans for the nation’s capital without the approval of the National Assembly. Kingibe made the allegation on Tuesday during an interview. She was discussing the FCT administration, the Abuja master plan and the oversight responsibilities of the National Assembly. ADVOCACY VISIT: CP OMOLORI HOSTS BACATMA, RENEWS COMMITMENT TO PUBLIC HEALTH, PLEDGES FULL SUPPORT FOR 2026 ITN DISTRIBUTION CAMPAIGN


The Bauchi State Police Command has pledged its full support to the 2026 Insecticide-Treated Net (ITN) Distribution Campaign following an advocacy visit and formal request from the Bauchi State Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Leprosy and Malaria (BACATMA).


During the visit on 24th August, 2026, Executive Chairman BACATMA, Dr. Adamu Sambo sought the Command’s partnership to ensure the safe, secure, and timely distribution of Insecticide-Treated Nets to households across all 20 Local Government Areas of the State.


The Commissioner of Police stated that the campaign, being executed under the National Malaria Elimination Programme in collaboration with the U.S. Government Global Health Supply Chain Program, is consistent with the Command’s core mandate of safeguarding lives and property, and supporting initiatives that advance public health and community well-being.


In line with this, the Command has assured BACATMA of the following support measures:

1. Adequate security coverage for the movement and distribution of ITNs to LGAs and communities statewide

2. Deployment of designated focal officers to coordinate with BACATMA and Area Commands throughout the exercise

3. Intelligence and advisory on safe and recommended travel routes, particularly for personnel accessing remote and vulnerable areas

4. Seamless inter-agency collaboration with sister agencies to ensure hitch-free operations


Furthermore, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, mni psc (+) emphasized that protecting campaign personnel, materials, and beneficiaries remains central to achieving the campaign’s objective of reducing malaria prevalence and protecting vulnerable populations across the state.


Accordingly, the Command reaffirms its readiness to work closely with BACATMA and all relevant stakeholders to ensure the 2026 ITN Distribution Campaign is conducted peacefully, efficiently, and successfully.
