LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. According to the Public Relations officer of the Kano State Board,Malam Mohammed Yola,disclosed this in an interview in Kano today saturday,that Kano state had facilitated the return of 52 street beggars to their states of origin.He said the affected beggars were brought to Kano state from Lagos state in December,2014.''The street beggars were arrested by the Lagos state Government which banned street begging and sent them back to Kano.The Kano state Government then directed the board to return some of them to their respective states of origin.29 of them were from some local government areas in Kano state while the remaining 52 were from other states in the North.13 from Jigawa,12 from Katsina,3 from Niger,four from Zamfara anf four from Kebbi.
