The response follows Bakare’s Sunday sermon, where he condemned the Senate’s suspension of Senator Natasha-Akpoti Uduaghan and the lawmakers’ approval of emergency rule in Rivers State, describing the executive and legislature as contenders in an “institutional immorality Olympics.” In a statement on Tuesday, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, accused Bakare of crossing the line with “unwarranted invective and misleading assertions” that could erode public trust in democratic institutions.
