VANDAL CRUSHED TO DEATH UNDER COLLAPSED TRANSMISSION TOWER IN DELTA STATE A suspected vandal has been crushed to death under a collapsed vandalised transmission tower along the 330kV Ughelli-Benin transmission line in Delta State. The incident was discovered during a line patrol carried out by the Delta Sub-Region, Lines Maintenance Department of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), following the tripping of the line on earth fault on the Ughelli - Benin 330kV Transmission line. A statement by the TCN indicates that the patrol team traced the fault to Tower 101, which had collapsed. The body of the suspected vandal was found crushed between the tower members. Tower 101 on the adjacent Ughelli - Sapele 330kV transmission line had also been vandalized.
Today it was reported that,the Nigerian troops fighting Boko Haram insurgents along Banki axis of Borno state,recorded a major victory with clearing two camps of Boko Haram at Jangurori and Bulatori villages and arrest of 43 suspected members of the insurgent group.Colonel Shehu Usman,acting director of Army Public Relations said in a statement that one of the suspected terrorists arrested is Boko Haram Kingpin in the area,''Bulama Modu'',who is an ''Amir of Bulakuri.He added that the troops also rescued 241 women and children during the operation.''To further confirm what was said earlier about the terrorists abandoning their commanders and burying weapons,one Mohammed Mode led troops to where he buried his AK-47 rifle at Jangurori village.Apart from the arms and ammunition,bows and arrows were recovered from Bulama Modu,the kingpin.He confirmed that the terrorists also gave him a horse to enhance his deadly pursuits''.He further stated that the suicide bombers and IED were prepared by Abdulrahaman Alkali Isa,Ba'ana Hisuba and Alkali Isa Karami,natives of Dara Jamel.He however added that the perpetrators have fled to Sumbulum village''
