 ZIMBABWEAN COUPLE DEPORTED OVER SECRET BURIAL OF CHILD IN BOTSWANA A Zimbabwean couple has been deported from Botswana after secretly burying their child without notifying authorities. Motilinah Mpofu and Christopher Ncube were convicted on Thursday of concealing a death after they allegedly dug a grave for their child in the dead of night. The Gaborone court heard the child had died suddenly. Instead of reporting the death to police, health officials, or traditional leaders, the couple quietly buried the youngster and hoped no one would find out. But the secret did not stay buried for long.   Police moved in and arrested the pair. In sentencing, the court ordered that the couple be taken to the Plumtree Border Post for deportation to Zimbabwe.  Top Botswana lawyer Winnie Masitha who offered the couple free legal representation during the trial, confirmed the deportation to BTV News. HERDER-FARMER CLASHES: OGUN GOVT DELIVERS FIRST BATCH OF PALLIATIVES.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

Barely twenty four hours after the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun announced that his Administration would provide palliatives to the victims of the recent confict between herders and farmers in the Ogun West Senatorial District of the State, the State Government has fulfilled its promise by delivering the first batch of foodstuff to victims in the area.
The Chairman, Sub-Committee on Palliatives who is also the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Hon. Olaolu Olabimtan disclosed that the Committee was in the area to deliver the palliatives as promised by the Governor, adding that the gesture was a sign of better things to come.
Olabimtan, who also noted that a lot would still be done to bring succour to people in the area in terms of more palliatives, added that the Committee would also look at ascertaining the cost of things that have been lost in the conflict as well as the value, as government was taking a holistic approach at making the people comfortable.
"The Governor did make a promise that relief materials, by way of food items, would be given to the people affected by the conflict and here we are on behalf of the Governor to deliver the first consignment of this relief materials. Of course, you can be sure that it is a sign of better things to come. Like I said, this is the first consignment. A lot more is still coming.
"Also, there will be the issue of ascertaining the cost of and what has actually been lost, with a view to giving further relief, because what has been lost is not only source of livelihood. People have lost their homes and businesses," he said.
In his remarks, the Transition Committee Chairman, Yewa North Local Government, Bankole Babatunde David, while appreciating the State Governor for fulfilling the promise he made barely twenty four hours ago, promised that the palliatives would get to both the farmers and herders who suffered losses during the clash.
The team had the Commissioner for Special Duties, Barr. Femi Ogunbanwo; Commissioner for Housing, Jagunmolu Omoniy; and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Special Duties, Kehinde Onasanya.
