 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. Benue State Governor, @samuelortom this morning received a heroic welcome at Yandev on his way to worship at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, City of David headquarters, Gboko.
Secretary to the State Government, Professor Anthony Ijohor, SAN, led other government officials and political stakeholders to welcome the Governor while hundreds of motorists, also known as Okada, made the welcome historic.
Governor Ortom is expected to attend a defection rally after Church in Gboko.
Those who came out to receive the Governor were chanting “our Governor, thank you for transforming Gboko with massive roads and other infrastructure”.
