 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. Barely two years in office, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has shown commitment at ensuring that the Health sector of Imo State for which he met in comatose receives urgent attention.


Apart from fighting headlong the dreaded Covid19 Pandemic with the provision of Isolation Centers with state-of-the-art medical facilities and equipment & Mobile Clinic was also made available by the Shared Prosperity to ensure that Imolites get quality health care services effortlessly.


Consequently, the Health sector of Imo State has greatly improved under Gov. Hope Uzodimma, if not for anything, the Covid19 Pandemic exposed how prepared the health sector under Gov. Hope Uzodimma is.


In the last one year, Imo however has recorded breakthroughs in Eradication of Polio, measles and other infectious diseases.


The progress of Imo State health sector is significant despite the economic challenges occasioned by the dreaded Covid-19 Pandemic, there is now a boost in the health sector as primary Health care outlets are across the 27 LGA, operating 24/7.


The glaring Health challenges such as maternal mortality, infant mortality, road accident injuries, diarrhea, meningitis and tuberculosis are all under control as the State Government Mobile Clinics hoves around meeting the provisions of health quality services at no cost. 


No doubt the visionary leadership of Gov. Hope Uzodimma has bolstered the fortunes of Imo State health sector.
