 GOVERNOR UZODIMMA CALLS FOR LOVE, UNITY, HIGHLIGHTS PROGRESS IN IMO STATE  In his Easter message delivered after the Holy Eucharist at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Parish in Omuma, Oru East LGA, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma CON, emphasized the central theme of the Easter season — Love. The Governor called on citizens to extend the spirit of Easter beyond mere celebration, encouraging them to embody love, unity, and compassion in their daily interactions and civic responsibilities. He commended the people of Imo State for their steadfast commitment to these virtues and urged continued efforts to promote a caring and united society. IPOB TELLS NDI-IGBO NOT TO SIT AT HOME AS KANU GOES TO COURT ON THURSDAY,2ND OF DECEMBER.[PHOTO].

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has asked residents of the South-East not to sit at home on Thursday, as its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu goes to court.


Media and Publicity Secretary of IPOB, Emma Powerful in a statement said: “We wish to inform Biafrans, friends of Biafra and lovers of freedom that our Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will be in court tomorrow, December 2, 2021 in Abuja.


“We therefore, urge Biafrans living in  Abuja and its environs to come out enmasse to solidarize with our leader.


“Meanwhile, there will be no lockdown tomorrow in any part of Biafra land as a result of the court appearance.

 

Biafrans resident in Biafra land as well as visitors to Biafra land are free to go about their lawful businesses without fear of molestations or intimidation.


“We have not asked or authorised anybody to monitor or enforce any lockdown. Again, there will be no lockdown in Biafra land for tomorrow’s court appearance of our Leader.


“Only Biafrans and friends of Biafra in Abuja and its environs that are encouraged to be at the court premises. As a non-violent movement, we urge everyone to remain peaceful and law abiding in all their conducts. Security operatives should also refrain from infringing on the fundamental rights of people who come to cheer our leader.”


Powerful said Kanu was not being persecuted because of any crime other than his fight for the freedom of Igbo people, as such, the people owe him a duty to stand by him until this darkness is over.

He commended the legal team of the group for what he called their untiring efforts to defend their leader who he said is innocent of the charges preferred against him. He urged all Biafrans to keep praying for him and the full restoration of Biafra Republic.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
