 Mexico says two US federal agents killed in crash were not authorized for operations inside country  Mexico’s government says two U.S. federal agents killed in a northern border-region crash were not authorized to take part in any operations on Mexican soil, raising new questions about their role in a cross-border drug lab mission. Authorities say the agents were returning from an operation targeting a clandestine drug facility in Chihuahua when their vehicle, traveling as part of a convoy, went off a ravine and exploded last weekend. Two Mexican officers also died in the incident. U.S. officials have confirmed the two Americans were CIA personnel, though their agency has declined to comment on the circumstances. Mexican officials say one of the agents entered the country as a visitor while the other used a diplomatic passport, and insist the government had no knowledge of foreign operatives conducting or planning any enforcement activity inside Mexico. KDSG DECLARES 24-HOUR CURFEW IN JEMA’A AND KAURA LGAS+SECURITY AGENCIES IN EMERGENCY MEETING OVER SECURITY SITUATION IN KAURA.(PHOTO).#PRESS RELEASE.

KDSG declares 24-hour curfew in Jema’a and Kaura LGAs

Following advice from security agencies, the Kaduna State Government has declared a 24-hour curfew in Jema’a and Kaura local government areas with immediate effect. 

This is to assist the security agencies to stabilize the situation, save lives and property and enable the restoration of law and order in these areas.

Security agencies have full authorization to enforce the curfew. Government appeals to all residents of Jema’a and Kaura local government areas to cooperate with the security agencies in the urgent task of restoring peace and upholding law and order.   

Government condemns the violence and all acts of lawlessness that have occurred in the area.

KDSG Security Update: Monday, 21st March 2022

KDSG, security agencies in emergency meeting over security situation in Kaura, Jema'a LGAs 

Senior officials of the Kaduna State Government, security agencies and community leaders from Kaura and Jema'a local government areas are presently in a closed-door meeting in a Government Lodge located in Kafanchan town. 

The Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan is chairing the meeting alongside Rt. Hon. Gideon Gwani, Member of the House of Representatives representing Kaura Federal Constituency. 

Also in attendance at the ongoing security meeting, is Mrs. Pheobe Sukai, Administrator of Kafanchan Municipal Authority. 

The chairmen of the two councils, (Siman Mathias and Yunana Barde) who are in the meeting are expected to present separate briefs. Col. Timothy Opurum, Sector 7 Commander of Operation Safe Haven, and ACP Danlami Ibrahim, Kafanchan Area Commander, are part of the meeting, as are various community leaders.  

The public will be updated on the outcome of the meeting.
