FEDERAL MINISTRY OF INFORMATION AND NATIONAL ORIENTATION  PRESS STATEMENT  BINANCE FALSE CLAIM ON BRIBERY DIVERSIONARY  The Federal Government of Nigeria is aware of attempts by Binance to launder its impaired image as an organisation that does not play by the rules and laws guiding business conduct in sovereign nations. In a blog post that has now been published by many international media organisations, in an apparent well-coordinated public relations effort, Binance Chief Executive Officer Richard Teng made false allegations of bribery against unidentified Nigerian government officials who he claimed demanded $150m in cryptocurrency payments to resolve the ongoing criminal investigation against the company.  This claim by Binance CEO lacks any iota of substance. Anambra State Government Demolishes Illegal Building At Federal Housing Estate, Onitsha, Cautions Against Evading Government Approvals

Anambra State Government Joint Task Force has demolished a one-storey building illegally erected in Federal Housing Estate, Trans-Nkisi, Onitsha North Council Area.

The effort is in continuation of its enforcement exercise to enthrone a saner and liveable environment in the State.

The one-storey building, which was brought down was encroaching on the street.

The building demolished which situated at the entrance of Amos Best Street, was built for commercial activities by landlords' association.

A petition had earlier been brought against the illegal structure after which a notice of removal was served.

Contrarily, the developers did not only fail to comply but also threatened to deal with the enforcement team mercilessly if they dare come close to the building.

Speaking during the exercise, the team Administrator of Anambra State Joint Enforcement Team ANJET, Mr. Collins Enebeli emphasized that government will no longer condone the menace of the landlords who erect illegal structures along public roads.

He explained that by so doing, they cause obstruction of movements.

According to him, the exercise is in line with Governor Soludo's campaign promise of getting rid of illegal structures in the state so as to achieve his aim of making the state a livable, prosperous green home land.

Mr. Enebeli called on the developers to desist from building illegal structures in the state so as to avoid sanctions which in many cases are costly.

In an interview with the ABS, a resident of the area expressed his joy over government's decision to remove the illegal structure in their street.

While demonstrating the importance of the demolition exercise, he said will enable easy movement in the street and stressed that the Governor is not a disappointment as he is gradually delivering on his mandate.

Officials of the Physical Planning Board, among others were also part of the enforcement team that embarked on the exercise.
