YPP NWC Dissociates Self Over Congratulatory Visit To Governor Sule

The Working Working Committee (NWC) of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) has dissociated itself over a recent visit by some officials of the party to the Government House, Lafia.

This was contained in a statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Comrade Egbeola Wale Martins and made available to newsmen on Saturday in Abuja.

Martins said there was no time the National Working Committee of the party whether directly or through proxies congratulated Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State on his re-election victory.

The National Secretary of the party Vidiyeno Bamaiyi had led some officials on a congratulatory visit to Governor Abdullahi Sule over his re-election victory on Thursday May 11.

According to a statement issued by Governor Sule's media aide, Bamaiyi was represented by Comrade Newman Solomon.

Others include the State Chairman of the party, Comrade Adeno Sabo Adeno and Assistant Secretary, Luke Amos who described the re-election of Governor Sule in the March 18 poll as well deserved.

Reacting however, NWC said the visit was an act of gross misconduct and vowed to take disciplinary actions against those found culpable.

“To break the code of conduct of the party is bad enough but to now drag the National Working Committee into this shameless drama through an act of subterfuge is not only immoral but criminal and must not go unpunished.

“Discipline in the Young Progressives Party is sacrosanct, hence all Chairmen of our State Chapters are enjoined to be guided and desist from any act capable of dragging the name of our great party into disrepute by taking lessons from this avoidable error propelled by desperation and disloyalty to the party,” the statement reads further.
