 Three de-ad, four coaches affected as Warri-Itakpe train derails The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has confirmed the d3ath of three persons following the derailment of the Warri-Itakpe train in Agbor, Delta State. The Corporation added that four coaches left the rail track during the incident which occurred on Monday, June 8, 2026. The Managing Director of NRC, Dr. Kayode Opeifa, said in a statement that the emergency response team and other relevant authorities are currently managing the situation and providing necessary assistance. “The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has confirmed a serious train accident involving the Warri–Itakpe Train Service (WITS) corridor at Agbor, Delta State,” the statement read. “Rescue and emergency response operations were immediately activated.  Over Sixty Million Nigerians At Risk of Glaucoma – ODORBN


Optometrists and Dispensing Optician Registration Board of Nigeria, ODORBN, says over sixty million Nigerians are at risk of glaucoma disease in the country.


The Registrar of the Board, Dr. Obinna Awiaka made this known at a media briefing to commemorate this year’s Glaucoma week in Abuja.


According to Dr Awiaka, ‘’the World Glaucoma Week is a global initiative of the World Glaucoma Association aimed at raising awareness about the eye disease.


These include series of engagement with patients worldwide, eye-care providers, health professionals and the general public to contribute to sight preservation.


The Registrar said every black man is at the risk of glaucoma, and advised that the only way to tackle the disease was early detection through screening.


Dr. Awiaka described Glaucoma as the second leading cause of blindness worldwide after cataract.
