Trump issues pardon to former Republican congressman Stephen Buyer after insider trading conviction    President Donald Trump has issued a full pardon to former Republican congressman Stephen Buyer, who served nearly two years in prison after being convicted of insider trading tied to post-congressional consulting work. Buyer was sentenced in 2023 to 22 months in prison for illegal stock trades made while working as a consultant and lobbyist. He was ordered to forfeit more than $350,000 in ill-gotten gains and pay a $10,000 fine. He was released from custody in 2025 after his conviction was upheld, with the Supreme Court declining to take up his appeal earlier this year. CANADA POLICE ACCUSED THE INDIAN GOVT OF COLLABORATING WITH THE LAWRENCE BISHNOI GANG TO TARGET PRO-KHAKISTANI ELEMENTS IN CANADA. (PHOTO).

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has accused the Indian government of collaborating with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang to target pro-Khalistani elements in Canada. During a press conference, RCMP Assistant Commissioner Brigitte Gauvin stated that India was using organized crime elements to spread terror, specifically targeting the South Asian community. She claimed the Bishnoi group was connected to agents of the Indian government.

India has strongly denied these allegations, calling them “preposterous” and accusing the Canadian government of pushing a political agenda. In a statement, the Indian foreign ministry said the claims were part of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s vote bank politics. The situation comes at a time when India is investigating the Lawrence Bishnoi gang for its involvement in the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique.

Tensions between India and Canada have been rising, with diplomatic relations reaching a new low. Both countries have expelled each other’s diplomats, with India expelling six Canadian diplomats in response to Canada naming Indian diplomats as “persons of interest” in the killing of pro-Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. India has criticized Canada’s actions as being politically motivated.

The strained relations began last year when Trudeau claimed to have evidence linking Indian agents to Nijjar’s assassination. The RCMP’s recent allegations have added further strain to the relationship between the two countries, with both sides exchanging accusations amidst an ongoing investigation.
