 Tragedy in Lagos: Two Dead After Machete-Wielding Attacker Storms Lekki IMAX Cinema A horrific incident unfolded at the Filmhouse IMAX Cinema in the upscale Lekki area of Lagos State on Friday night, August 29, leaving two people dead following a violent confrontation with an armed intruder. Violent Confrontation at Cinema Entrance According to eyewitness accounts, a man armed with a machete and a knife attempted to force his way into the cinema premises. Onlookers reported that the assailant appeared to be highly intoxicated or under the influence of substances. When vigilant security personnel stationed at the entrance intercepted him to prevent entry, a violent scuffle ensued.  'Welcome on board' - TAMPAN lifts ban on Nkechi Blessing


The Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), has lifted the suspension on actress Nkechi Blessing three years after her public apology.

The controversy began in 2021 when Blessing engaged in a social media fight with colleague Kehinde Adams, better known as Lege Miami, over the arrest of another actor Baba Ijesha.

Baba Ijesha was convicted of assaulting a minor. Blessing’s subsequent criticism of TAMPAN led to her suspension.

However, Blessing recently apologized to TAMPAN at the Nigerian Canadian Celebrities Entertainment Awards in Toronto.

In a now-viral video, the 35-year-old knelt before Bolaji Amusan, the TAMPAN president better known as Mr Latin, seeking forgiveness.

Blessing acknowledged the significant impact the association has had on her career, expressing gratitude and remorse.

“I am deeply sorry for all I did. I am so sorry. I beg you from the bottom of my heart to please forgive me. I appreciate the industry. You all made me who I am today. I would not be anyone if not because of you,” she said.

Amusan and Odunlade Adekola, his colleague, took to the stage to embrace Blessing. Adekola praised Blessing for acknowledging her mistakes.

Amusan also welcomed Blessing back into the association, commending her “courage” in a post on Instagram.

“I commend and admire your courage… welcome on board!!!” he wrote.
