No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat. However, once Deiter was pulled to safety, he repaid a stranger's kindness with treachery.  Deiter shoved the captain from his own boat and fled the scene in the stolen boat, leaving the man who had just risked his own vessel and life...

As IGP Decorates Newly Appointed DIG Ari.

In a continued commitment to combat gender-based violence and support victims, the Nigeria Police Force in conjunction with other Governmental groups and NGOs is observing the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, a campaign that aims to raise awareness and mobilize action to end all forms of violence against women and girls.

The recent implementation of the comprehensive Police Gender Policy, along with the appointment of a dedicated Gender Advisor, signifies the dedication of the Nigeria Police Force to the mission to foster gender inclusivity and a safer society for all.

The Police have a longstanding commitment to combating Gender-Based Violence, sexual violence, harassment, and other associated crimes. The IGP also recently held a workshop with the heads of all investigation units within the force, to ensure the implementation of child-friendly policing practices that are supportive, non-traumatic, and rights-respecting, aimed at upholding the dignity and rights of children and young people while fostering a protective environment, which is a microsystem of policing structure.

In another development, the Inspector-General of Police, officially decorated the recently promoted Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG Ari Muhammed as the Coordinating DIG for the North Central region.
