 RE: VIRAL VIDEO OF WOMAN ASSAULTED BY SUSPECTED THUG NEAR ORIENTAL HOTEL The Lagos State Police Command is aware of a viral video circulating on social media, depicting the assault of one Yetunde Amole by a suspected thug near the Oriental Hotel area in Lagos. The Command condemns this act in the strongest terms and wishes to update the public on the actions already taken. The incident occurred on April 7, 2025, at about 1400hrs, when the suspect, identified as Friday Onu, was caught attempting to steal Amole’s car battery. Amole, courageously intervened to prevent the theft, resulting in the suspect assaulting her. Following a prompt response by officers of Maroko Division, Friday Onu was arrested shortly after the incident and detained at the division. Preparations for his arraignment were underway when he suddenly took ill. He was immediately transferred to Falomo Police Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment under close supervision. Nigerian politician and former aide to Goodluck Jonathan Reno Omokri has knocked Davido over his comment on Africa’s economy


We reported that Davido, in a recent interview, had issued a stern warning to black Americans against relocating to Africa. 


He warned them against making such moves, as he made them know that it wasn’t cool in Africa as the economy was in shambles. Davido, however, made it known that he wasn’t badmouthing Africa; rather, he aimed to show off the little parts and leave the slums out of the frame.


Reno Note pleased with his statement, Reno questioned how the economy was in shambles when Wizkid broke streaming records on Spotify Nigeria with his new album, Morayo. 


He told Davido to fact-check as he noted how people don’t have disposable income in an economy that is in shambles.


Reno urged Davido to learn from American singer Rihanna, who never talks down on her country, and instead uses her celebrity status to promote Barbados and project it positively to the world.


 He stated that the singer displayed ignorance and a lack of patriotism with that statement and expressed how disappointed he was over his comment.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
