 Katsina woman rewarded with N500,000 for display of honesty A woman identified as Malama Amina Abdulkadir-Yanmaman has been rewarded with N500,000 and certificate of commendation for returning N748,320 wrongly credited to her account to the coffers of Katsina state government. Abdulkadir-Yanmaman was wrongly credited with N748,320 meant for the Federal Government’s Home Grown School feeding programme in the state, according to Executive Director, Katsina State Social Investment Programme Agency (KASIPA), Dr Mudassir Nasir. 11 INDIAN NATIONALS AND OTHER PERSON WERE FOUND DEAD AT A RESTAURANT IN GUDAURI,A MOUNTAIN RESORT IN GEORGIA.(PHOTO).


 Eleven Indian nationals and one other person were found dead at a restaurant in Gudauri, a mountain resort in Georgia, on December 13. 

According to the Indian Embassy in Tbilisi, all victims were employed at the restaurant. Georgian authorities have ruled out violence and believe the deaths were caused by carbon monoxide poisoning.


In a statement issued on December 16, the Indian Embassy expressed deep sadness over the incident and extended condolences to the victims’ families. “The Embassy is working closely with local authorities to repatriate the mortal remains to India and is in contact with the bereaved families to provide all possible support,” the statement read.


The bodies were discovered in a resting area on the second floor of the restaurant. Preliminary investigations suggest the poisoning occurred after a power generator was placed in an enclosed indoor space near the bedrooms. The generator was reportedly switched on following a power outage, leading to the buildup of toxic fumes.


The Georgian police have launched an investigation under Article 116 of the Criminal Code, which deals with negligent manslaughter. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has also ordered a forensic medical examination to confirm the exact cause of death. The tragic incident has shocked both local and international communities.
