 Egyptian family of six rearrested after ICE release, lawyer warns of fast-track deportation despite court-ordered pause and ongoing asylum case An Egyptian family of six who had recently been released from immigration custody was rearrested Saturday, with their attorney warning they could face rapid deportation despite a court order temporarily pausing their removal. The family—Hayam El Gamal and her five children—had spent roughly ten months in the Dilley detention center outside San Antonio, Texas, where conditions have drawn criticism over access to food and medical care. A federal magistrate judge had ruled earlier this week that the family should be released while their asylum case proceeds after they entered the United States in 2022 on a tourist visa. Following Saturday’s rearrest, their attorney said they were placed on a flight to Michigan and could then be transferred for deportation to Egypt.  ILLUSTRIOUS OBOSI INDIGENES ORGANIZE YOUTH CONFERENCE FOR YOUTHS

Ambassador IK Okoma, an oversea-based business man and Oby Ajegbo, a lawyer, organized  a youth conference for youths in Obosi, the aim of which is to re-direct their footsteps to the path of moral rectitude and awaken their latent potentialities. 


The youth conference, which had the theme, "Awakening The Giant in You", took place at the Obosi town hall. 


The well-attended conference started with an opening prayer said by Bishop Sam Chidoka, who said that the conference was an occasion for turning around the destination of the young generation. 


The key-note address was presented by the same Bishop Chidoka, who urged the students to identify their gifts and use them positively while Prof. Nnamdi Onyire narrated how he overcame poverty to achieve his life goal. 


Rev. Albert Green's speech presentation dwelt on types of empowerments, such as mental, physical, financial, and educational empowerments. 


While the chairman of ODU Committee on Skills Acquisition and Empowerment, Nze Chisom Onugha, tasked the students to let their light shine, Barr. Lightman Chukwunonso Okolo gave them nuggets on how to succeed in their academic life and other endeavours. 


During the interlude, The Thunder Family Group wowed the audience with their spectacular dance displays. 


Students from Union Secondary School, Obosi; Maranatha Excellent and Unique School, Obosi; king of Kings Vocational School, Obosi; Choice De Immaculate Demonstration School, Obosi; and Community Secondary School, Obosi attended the youth conference.
