NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable.  LASEMA Rescues Four Victims from Lagos Road Accident

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) successfully rescued four individuals following a road accident on Monday evening.

Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the agency’s Permanent Secretary, confirmed the rescue in a statement issued on Tuesday in Lagos.

Oke-Osanyintolu stated that the victims sustained serious injuries in the collision between two buses, which occurred late Monday on the Third Mainland Bridge, heading towards Oworo.

He explained that LASEMA received distress calls at 17:25 through the 767 and 112 toll-free emergency lines, prompting the activation of the agency's emergency response team from the Command and Control Centre in Alausa, Ikeja.

Upon arriving at the scene at 17:35, LASEMA found that a white Toyota Coaster bus, with registration number KJA-380-XV, had crashed into a parked Lagos State BRT bus (registration number AGL938-YD). The Coaster bus was attempting to overtake another vehicle when the accident occurred, causing significant damage and injuries.

Oke-Osanyintolu confirmed that the four injured individuals, including the driver, were severely hurt, but fortunately, no fatalities were reported.

The agency coordinated the recovery operation, extricating the trapped passengers. The injured were provided with pre-hospital care by LASEMA’s paramedics before being taken to nearby government hospitals.

The white Coaster bus was then towed to Iyana-Oworo and handed over to the police, completing the recovery process.
