Trump issues pardon to former Republican congressman Stephen Buyer after insider trading conviction    President Donald Trump has issued a full pardon to former Republican congressman Stephen Buyer, who served nearly two years in prison after being convicted of insider trading tied to post-congressional consulting work. Buyer was sentenced in 2023 to 22 months in prison for illegal stock trades made while working as a consultant and lobbyist. He was ordered to forfeit more than $350,000 in ill-gotten gains and pay a $10,000 fine.  LASEMA Rescues Four Victims from Lagos Road Accident

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) successfully rescued four individuals following a road accident on Monday evening.

Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the agency’s Permanent Secretary, confirmed the rescue in a statement issued on Tuesday in Lagos.

Oke-Osanyintolu stated that the victims sustained serious injuries in the collision between two buses, which occurred late Monday on the Third Mainland Bridge, heading towards Oworo.

He explained that LASEMA received distress calls at 17:25 through the 767 and 112 toll-free emergency lines, prompting the activation of the agency's emergency response team from the Command and Control Centre in Alausa, Ikeja.

Upon arriving at the scene at 17:35, LASEMA found that a white Toyota Coaster bus, with registration number KJA-380-XV, had crashed into a parked Lagos State BRT bus (registration number AGL938-YD). The Coaster bus was attempting to overtake another vehicle when the accident occurred, causing significant damage and injuries.

Oke-Osanyintolu confirmed that the four injured individuals, including the driver, were severely hurt, but fortunately, no fatalities were reported.

The agency coordinated the recovery operation, extricating the trapped passengers. The injured were provided with pre-hospital care by LASEMA’s paramedics before being taken to nearby government hospitals.

The white Coaster bus was then towed to Iyana-Oworo and handed over to the police, completing the recovery process.
