No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat. However, once Deiter was pulled to safety, he repaid a stranger's kindness with treachery.  Deiter shoved the captain from his own boat and fled the scene in the stolen boat, leaving the man who had just risked his own vessel and life...

Tensions Rise Over Panama Canal: Mulino Denies Trump's Claims of Chinese Military Presence

Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino has rejected claims made by U.S. president-elect Donald Trump regarding the presence of Chinese soldiers at the Panama Canal. In a recent post on his Truth Social account, Trump accused Panama of "ripping off" the United States with high shipping rates and threatened to reclaim control of the canal if the situation did not improve. Mulino dismissed Trump's assertions as "nonsense," asserting that there is no Chinese military presence in the canal and emphasizing that the waterway is entirely under Panamanian control. He reiterated that discussions about reducing tolls for U.S. ships or relinquishing control of the canal are out of the question.

This controversy follows Panama's diplomatic shift from Taiwan to China in 2017, which has led to a complex relationship between the two nations. Mulino characterized the ties with China as respectful and beneficial for both countries. Meanwhile, Trump announced his intention to nominate Florida lawmaker Kevin Marino Cabrera as the U.S. ambassador to Panama, indicating his administration's focus on the canal's management. Trump's comments about the canal's fees and concerns over its control reflect a broader narrative of U.S. interests in the region, particularly regarding China's influence.
