 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  Reggae Legend Cocoa Tea Passes Away at 65  


Jamaican reggae icon Cocoa Tea, known for his smooth vocals and timeless hits, has passed away at the age of 65. His wife, Malvia Scott, confirmed his death on Tuesday, March 11, in Broward, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to the Jamaican Gleaner.


According to Scott, the singer had been battling lymphoma since 2019 and was also dealing with pneumonia in recent months. He was transferred to a hospital after experiencing severe vomiting. Despite his health struggles, she described him as brave and hopeful, recalling his reassuring words just weeks before his passing.  


Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness paid tribute to the late artist, honoring his contributions to reggae music. He highlighted Cocoa Tea’s classic hits, such as Rocking Dolly and I Lost My Sonia, and praised him as a kind and generous figure who uplifted others.  


“Cocoa Tea’s influence went beyond Jamaica, touching hearts around the world and cementing our country’s place in global music,” Holness stated.  


The reggae community and fans worldwide are mourning the loss of one of Jamaica’s most beloved musical voices.
