Somali World Cup Referee Denied Entry to United States Award-winning Somali referee, Omar Artan, has been denied entry into the United States despite holding a valid visa, according to a senior official in Somalia’s sports ministry.  Abia Government Diverts Traffic After Diesel Tanker Accident

The Abia State government has directed motorists traveling to Abiriba, Nkporo, and Ohafia to reroute through Bende Road following an accident involving a diesel tanker on Saturday. The tanker overturned on the newly paved road between Igbere Junction and Igbere Hill in Bende Local Government Area, spilling its contents and raising safety concerns among residents.

No fatalities were reported, but the diesel spill created hazardous conditions, prompting swift action from the Abia State Road Safety and Traffic Management Agency. The agency issued a statement advising drivers heading toward Igbere-Abiriba-Ohafia to use the Umuahia-Bende Road as an alternative route while cleanup efforts are underway. Authorities assured the public that the road is being cleared to ensure safety and accessibility.

Despite warnings about the risk of explosion, some residents and transporters were seen scooping diesel from the spill site, heightening concerns about potential dangers. The agency continues to monitor the situation and urged road users to comply with the diversion for their safety.
