No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat.  Abia State Government Denies Blocking EFCC, Labels Viral Report as Fake News

The Abia State government has strongly refuted a viral social media report claiming it prevented the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from transferring 59 arrested youths to Abuja. The government described the report as false and accused opposition elements of orchestrating it to tarnish the state’s image.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Ferdinand Ekeoma, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, clarified that the Abia State government does not interfere with the operations of legitimate agencies like the EFCC or other anti-graft bodies, especially not to shield suspected fraudsters.

“The news is baseless and motivated by opposition members aiming to paint Abia in a bad light,” Ekeoma said, dismissing the report as part of a series of similar false narratives targeting the state.

He urged the public to disregard the report, labeling it as fake news, and called for vigilance against misinformation. The government reiterated its commitment to supporting lawful efforts to combat crime while condemning attempts to spread falsehoods for political gain.
