No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat. However, once Deiter was pulled to safety, he repaid a stranger's kindness with treachery.  Deiter shoved the captain from his own boat and fled the scene in the stolen boat, leaving the man who had just risked his own vessel and life...

Akwa Ibom Governor Backs Tinubu, Highlights State Achievements in Abuja

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has called for national support for President Bola Tinubu, stating that the President inherited Nigeria’s current economic challenges and is working diligently to address them. Speaking to journalists after a meeting with Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday, Eno described Tinubu’s first two years in office as “wonderful” and urged Nigerians to rally behind him to “finish strong.”

“President Tinubu didn’t create the problem we are in right now,” Eno said. “I believe he is doing his best, and he should be supported.”

The governor also highlighted his administration’s achievements in Akwa Ibom over the past two years, citing progress in education, healthcare, road infrastructure, and rural development. “When you come to Akwa Ibom, you’ll find we are working across the board—from schools to hospitals, roads, and markets. We are delivering tangible results,” he stated.

Eno outlined plans for the second half of his tenure, which will focus on major infrastructure projects to position Akwa Ibom as an economic and tourist hub. “We’re now moving into super infrastructure. We want to make Akwa Ibom a tourist destination, and we are well on our way,” he said.

Reflecting on the state’s legacy of leadership, Eno praised his predecessors—Obong Victor Attah, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and Chief Udom Emmanuel—for laying a foundation of progress. “Akwa Ibom has been blessed with visionary leaders. We have sustained a development trajectory that has set us apart,” he noted.

On youth empowerment, Eno emphasized initiatives in skills development, job creation, and entrepreneurship, including an employment portal to connect job seekers with opportunities. “We’re training our young people, supporting SMEs, and working to rebuild the middle class,” he said.

The governor reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive growth through partnerships with the federal government and private sector, aiming to unlock Akwa Ibom’s full potential through strategic, long-term planning.
