 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  Quick Facts About AfDB President-Elect Sidi Ould Tah To Succeed Adesina


After a decade of impact as the president of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Nigeria’s pride, Akinwumi Adesina, will take a bow, leaving a trail of legacies captured in his five priorities to light up, feed, industrialise, integrate, and improve quality of life.


To mount the saddle after Nigeria’s former agriculture minister Adesina is Mauritania’s Sidi Ould Tah.


Here are some quick facts about the AfDB president-elect:


1. Tah is Mauritania’s former Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance.

2. Tah has over 35 years of experience in African and international finance.

 3. Tah served as president of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) for 10 years from 2015.

4. Tah secured an overwhelming 76.18 percent of votes to trounce other candidates in the election including Amadou Hott (Senegal), Samuel Maimbo (Zambia), Mahamat Tolli (Chad) and Bajabulile Tshabalala (South Africa).

5. Tah will assume office on 1 September 2025, for a five-year term, following the end of the second mandate of current president Adesina.
