No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat. However, once Deiter was pulled to safety, he repaid a stranger's kindness with treachery.  Deiter shoved the captain from his own boat and fled the scene in the stolen boat, leaving the man who had just risked his own vessel and life...

Kuti becomes the first player to defend the ITTF Africa West Regional Championships men's singles title.

Ojomu Ajoke, winner of the women's singles title, expressed her delight at victory, despite playing with a leg injury. "Playing against fellow teammates is always challenging, as we frequently compete against each other in national team events", she said.

She applauded the President of the African Table Tennis Federation (ATTF), Barrister Wahid Enitan Oshodi, for the chance to showcase her talent in Lagos State and Nigeria.

"I'm proud of myself, and I know my family will be proud, too, knowing the hard work I put into winning this trophy," she added.

The President of ATTF and Vice President of ITTF, Barrister Wahid Enitan Oshodi, said the Nigerian players are looking good and doing well, with the likes of Kuti Mathew, Taiwo Mati, and others carrying their form into the WTT Lagos Contender.

The four-day championship also serves as a qualifier for the 2025 ITTF African Championship, scheduled to be held in Kigali, Rwanda from October 12 - 19.
