A 6-year-old boy who lost both arms after being attacked by two pit bulls has finally been released from the hospital.  Romell Feazier Jr. had his entire future changed on one fateful day back in March. On March 19th, Romell's father asked him to go clean up the backyard at their home. The family kept their pet pit bulls in the backyard. Romell and the dogs had been around each other for practically his entire life. The dogs had never been aggressive towards anyone in the family, so his father didn't think twice when assigning this chore to Romell. However, something on this day made the family dogs attack Romell as he went about his tasks.  When Romell's father went to check on his progress, he was met with a horrific scene.  Gov Uba Sani Approves ₦2.3bn For Payment Of Retirees, Deceased Workers’ Families In Kaduna

The Kaduna State Government has released ₦2.321 billion for the payment of pension entitlements, gratuities, and death benefits to retirees and families of deceased civil servants across the state.

The funds, approved by Governor Uba Sani, cover accrued rights under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) as well as gratuity and death benefits under the old Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS).

With this latest disbursement, the state has paid a total of ₦6.678 billion to retirees in 2025 alone, and ₦13.5 billion since the current administration came into office.

Commissioner for Information, Ahmed Maiyaki, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the welfare of pensioners, emphasizing that timely payments are key to easing the financial challenges faced by senior citizens.

According to the Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Pension Bureau, Ibrahim Balarabe, the newly approved payment will benefit 661 retirees and families across both state and local government levels. Out of the total amount, ₦1.736 billion is allocated for accrued rights of 511 retirees under the CPS, while ₦585 million is earmarked for gratuities and death benefits to 315 pensioners and next-of-kin under the DBS.

The bureau explained that CPS beneficiaries will receive their payments directly into their Retirement Savings Accounts (RSAs) with their Pension Fund Administrators, while those under the DBS will be invited for screening and verification prior to payment.

Governor Sani, the statement noted, has consistently emphasized that treating retirees with dignity is not only a legal duty but a moral responsibility of government.
