PRIME MINISTER'S REPLY:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pledged that “all those responsible will be brought to justice” after a car blast near the historic Red Fort in India’s capital killed at least eight people and wounded 20.

The explosion occurred around 6:52 p.m. Monday, when a slow‐moving car stopped at a traffic signal near the Red Fort metro station in Old Delhi and detonated, shattering windows, igniting a fire and leaving mangled bodies and wrecked vehicles in its wake.

Authorities described the blast as “deeply disturbing” and said the case is being investigated under the nation’s primary anti‐terrorism law, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, alongside explosives and criminal statutes.
