 NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT.  Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar  and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination.  A reinforcement team  from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision. AN OHIO WOMAN WAS KILLED BY A DEER AFTER BECOMING STUCK INSIDE OF ITS PEN. (PHOTO).

 An Ohio woman was killed by a deer after becoming stuck inside of its pen. 


Belmont County Sheriff's Department was called to a home around 10:27 p.m. on November 15th to the report of an animal attack. 


Once on scene, they discovered a severely wounded female inside of a pen with an aggressive white tail buck. Deputies were forced to shoot the deer in order to enable first responders access to the victim. However, it was too late by this point. Sadly, Jodi Proger was pronounced deceased on scene.


According to family members, Jodi had become trapped inside of the enclosure when the deer became aggressive and began attacking her. Family members desperately attempted to reach her and kill the deer but were unsuccessful until law enforcement arrived. 


Belmont County Sheriff James Zusack says no foul play is suspected.  He says the case has been turned over to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and Ohio Department of Agriculture to investigate.
