“Nobody Wanted To Assassinate Naval Officer Yerima  He Was Driving A Tinted Car Without Number Plate And Refused To Identify Himself” Wike’s Aide, Lere Olayinka Claims

The controversy surrounding the confrontation between FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and naval officer Lt. A.M. Yerima has taken a new twist as the minister’s aide, Lere Olayinka, breaks his silence on the matter.

In a fresh statement, Olayinka dismissed rumours of an a§§assination attempt on the widely celebrated officer, insisting that Yerima’s own actions triggered the incident.

According to him, Yerima was driving a tinted vehicle with no number plate when policemen on duty stopped him for identification a routine security procedure in Abuja.

Olayinka alleges that instead of cooperating, the officer refused to identify himself and allegedly insμlted the policemen, escalating the situation.

He added that the narrative circulating online has been “twisted to stir emotions,” insisting that no one targeted Yerima and that the security agents were simply doing their job.

The statement has further deepened the debate surrounding the FCT Navy clash, as Nigerians remain sharply divided over who was at fault.
