Somali World Cup Referee Denied Entry to United States Award-winning Somali referee, Omar Artan, has been denied entry into the United States despite holding a valid visa, according to a senior official in Somalia’s sports ministry. Artan, who is set to become the first Somali referee to officiate at the FIFA World Cup finals, was stopped at Miami International Airport and subsequently returned to Istanbul, where he had been residing. The reason for the denial was not immediately disclosed. However, Somalia is among the countries affected by a travel ban introduced by the administration of Donald Trump. Reacting to the development, Ciise Aden Abshir, a senior adviser to Somalia’s Ministry of Youth and Sports and a former national team captain, described Artan as one of Africa’s most respected referees. “Omar Artan is among Africa’s most respected referees and deserves the support of the entire football community,” Abshir told AFP on Monday. TWO PEOPLE WERE FOUND DECEASED FROM GUNSHOT WOUNDS AT AN INDIANAPOLIS HOME, AND TWO SMALL CHILDREN WERE RECOVERED UNHARMED. NOW POLICE BELIEVE A HIGH-SPEED CHASE IN A NEARBY COUNTRY MAY BE CONNECTED. (PHOTO).

Two people were found deceased from gunshot wounds at an Indianapolis home, and two small children were recovered unharmed. Now police believe a high-speed chase in a nearby country may be connected.

This tragic and confusing mystery began at 10:17 a.m. on the 3700 block of North Audubon Road on the east side of Indianapolis.

Authorities were initially responding to the report of a fire. However, once inside of the home, firefighters found something far more sinister.

After firefighters extinguished a small fire inside of the home, they made a startling discovery.

36-year-old Meghan Wiekerson and  36-year-old Corkney "CJ" Morgan Jr. were both found suffering from gunshot wounds. Morgan was pronounced deceased on scene. Weikerson was rushed to an area hospital in critical condition but passed away a short time later.

Two small children were recovered from the home. Both children were unharmed, thankfully.

Now, authorities think a police pursuit in a neighboring county may be connected.

Authorities in Boone County, Indiana, were alerted to a white Dodge Charger driving erratically. Officers with Whitestown and Lebanon police departments both attempted to initiate a stop, and a high-speed chase ensued.

The pursuit eventually ended in Tippecanoe County when Indiana State Police deployed stop sticks. After losing control of the Charger, it came to rest near the 168-mile marker on Northbound I-65. The driver did not comply with police initially but ultimately was placed into custody before being taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver's identity has not been released at this time.

A release from the Indiana State Police hints toward a possible connection between the two incidents. It read in part, "The connection, if any, remains part of the dynamic and ongoing investigation."

If you have any information regarding this case, you are asked to call Detective Larry Craciunoiu with the Indiana State Police at 1-317-327-3475.

Our thoughts are with the families of the victims.
