‘Friend Of A Thief Is A Thief’, Defence Minister Warns Terrorist Sponsors The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd), has cautioned Nigerians against aiding terrorists, insurgents, bandits, or other criminal elements, stressing that anyone who supports criminal activities will face the full weight of the law. General Musa made the warning on Saturday while speaking as the Special Guest of Honour at the Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day 2026 Golf Tournament held at the TYB Golf Resort and Country Club, Yar’Adua Barracks, Abuja. He urged citizens to continue supporting the Armed Forces and other security agencies, noting that the Federal Government has given them a clear mandate to deal decisively with all threats to national security. “I call on all Nigerians to stand with the Armed Forces and security agencies in the quest for peace,” Musa said.  “Those who continue to support bandits, insurgents, terrorists, or criminals must desist immediately.  Gazetted Tax Law Differs From Version Passed by National Assembly- Rep Abdussamad Dasuki Raise Alarm

A member of the House of Representatives, Abdussamad Dasuki, has raised alarm over alleged alterations to the tax bills passed by both chambers of the National Assembly, warning that the version currently gazetted and in circulation differs from what lawmakers approved.

Speaking during plenary on Tuesday, December 17, Dasuki said some clauses contained in the gazetted copy of the new tax laws are inconsistent with the harmonised version passed by the Senate and the House of Representatives.

Raising the matter as a question of privilege, Dasuki said:

“I’m here today because my privilege has been breached as a member of this all-important House. Mr Speaker, Honourable colleagues, we passed the tax laws on this floor. I took my time in the last three days to look at the gazetted copy.

“I also examined the votes and proceedings of the House of Representatives and went an extra mile to check the votes and proceedings of the Senate, which were harmonised.

“Mr Speaker, Honourable colleagues, what was passed on this floor is not what is gazetted. I was here, I voted, my vote was counted, and now I am seeing something completely different.”

He further alleged that the version currently available to the public through the Ministry of Information does not reflect the legislation approved by lawmakers.

“What is before Nigerians, which is being sold to Nigerians at the Ministry of Information, is not what was passed by the House and the Senate,” he said.

Describing the situation as a constitutional breach, Dasuki urged the House to immediately revisit the legislation.

“I plead that all the documents be brought before the Committee of the Whole so that the necessary corrections can be made. This is a breach of the Constitution and our laws, and it should not be taken lightly by this Honourable House,” he added.

In his response, Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, assured members that the leadership would investigate the allegation and take appropriate steps in the interest of the nation.
