Kajuru: Chief Suleiman Gambo Maro Calls For Full Investigation Into Killing Of Hon. Samuel Abi Dangiwa

Chief Suleiman Gambo Maro, a respected community leader and close associate of the late Hon. Samuel Abi Dangiwa, has issued a strongly worded statement demanding justice and a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding Dangiwa’s abduction and killing.

In the statement, titled “After Dangiwa, What Next?” Chief Maro described the death of the former Education Secretary as a devastating blow to the Kajuru community, adding that the incident reflects deeper issues of insecurity, political exclusion, and long-standing government neglect.

Chief Maro recounted Dangiwa’s years of public service, noting that he served as Education Secretary for a decade, during which he earned widespread respect for what locals describe as fairness and dedication. He said the community later urged Dangiwa to enter politics, believing he was the most credible and qualified candidate to represent them.

According to Maro, Dangiwa won what he called “the cleanest and fairest primary election in the local government,” but the result was later overturned in a manner he described as politically motivated. Despite this, Maro said Dangiwa remained peaceful and committed to serving Kajuru.

The statement detailed how Dangiwa was abducted from his home and held in captivity for three months. Chief Maro expressed outrage that the late community leader was reportedly killed a month before ransom payments were made, a revelation he said underscores failures within local security structures.

"The most devastating revelation, however, was that he had already been killed a month before ransom was even paid. His family, acting out of desperation and hope, unknowingly fulfilled the demands of criminals while their father lay buried beneath the earth."

He also criticized what he described as the long-running marginalization of Kajuru at various levels of government, citing the lack of key administrative appointments, inadequate political representation, and more than a decade of persistent insecurity.

Chief Maro warned that allowing the killing of Dangiwa to go unanswered would deepen frustration and despair among residents.

He urged elected officials representing the area, including the Senator, House of Representatives member, and State Assembly member, to push for a thorough and transparent investigation.

“Kajuru deserves justice, proper representation, and restored dignity. This begins with uncovering the truth behind Dangiwa’s murder and holding those responsible accountable," Maro wrote.
