 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  Abia Police Rescue Four-Year-Old Boy Believed to Be Missing from Nasarawa State


The Abia State Police Command has successfully rescued a four-year-old boy identified as Jeremiah Emmanuel Gimba, who was reported missing and is believed to originate from Nasarawa State.


The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chinaka, confirmed the rescue in a statement released on Friday, January 9, 2026.


According to the police spokesperson, the dark-skinned boy, who has no visible facial marks or distinguishing features, was discovered by operatives of the command and immediately taken into protective custody for his safety and wellbeing.


DSP Chinaka appealed to members of the public, particularly parents or guardians who may have been searching for a missing child matching the boy’s description, to come forward promptly for identification and possible reunion.


“Parents or guardians whose child fits this description are advised to visit the Gender Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Abia State Police Command, or contact the Police Public Relations Department for further inquiries,” the statement read.


The police assured that the child is currently safe, healthy, and well-cared for in protective custody, while urging residents and the general public to provide any useful information that could help trace and reunite the boy with his biological family or legal guardians.


The Abia State Police Command has not disclosed the exact circumstances surrounding how and where the child was found, but emphasized that investigations are ongoing to establish the full facts of the case.


Anyone with credible information is encouraged to reach out to the nearest police station or directly contact the command’s Public Relations Department without delay.
