Mel B has made it clear she is staying out of the ongoing Beckham family drama.
The former Spice Girls star was recently asked about the highly publicised rift involving David Beckham, Victoria Beckham and their eldest son Brooklyn Beckham, but she firmly declined to get involved.
Speaking in a fresh interview, the singer, who shares a long history with Victoria through the Spice Girls, said she does not interfere in matters involving other people’s children.
“You know what? If my kids want advice, I give them it,” Mel said.
She continued, “I don’t give advice on anybody else’s kids. And if I did, I wouldn’t tell you about it, because that’s private.”
Her comments come amid reports that communication within the Beckham family has become severely strained following an explosive statement allegedly released by Brooklyn.
According to reports, Brooklyn accused his parents of placing public image and branding above family relationships and claimed there had been attempts to interfere in his marriage to Nicola Peltz.
The situation has reportedly escalated to the point where any communication attempts are now expected to go through legal representatives.
While carefully sidestepping the family feud, Mel also addressed the growing rumours surrounding a possible Spice Girls reunion.
For months, fans have speculated about a 30th anniversary tour for the iconic girl group, but Mel was quick to cool expectations.
“I’ve not said anything about a reunion,” she said.
“I’m always the first one to say, ‘Yes, we’re going on tour,’ and I’m willing it to happen. Now I’m 50, I’m not going to be forcing anyone.”
The singer, who rose to fame alongside Victoria Beckham, Melanie C, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell in 1996, admitted that the possibility of performing together again now feels uncertain.
The group famously split in 2001 before reuniting for their world tour in 2007, the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony, and later the 2019 UK tour, which Victoria did not join.
Mel admitted that while the 2019 experience was special, she has stopped pushing for another comeback.
“I can tell you a reunion is not happening. If it does, it’ll be a shock to me,” she said.
“When I look at that tour and the feeling it gave me, I was in my element, but there comes a time. I’m 50. You can’t keep nagging everyone to go on tour if they don’t want to.”
Even with her obvious love for the group, Mel admitted she is no longer certain she would jump at the opportunity even if plans resurfaced.
Still, she spoke fondly of the bond she shares with her former bandmates, describing it as something deeply meaningful.
