 LASG REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO END TUBERCULOSIS IN COMMUNITIES IN LAGOS STATE The Lagos State Government on Tuesday reaffirmed its commitment to completely eradicate Tuberculosis (TB) at the grassroots level across the metropolis.  The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District III, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke made this known during a courtesy visit by the Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria team to her Ikoyi office, emphasising the present administration's commitment to continually prioritise health security across the state. She said the Lagos State First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Sanwo-Olu, is a Tuberculosis (TB) champion with the mandate of ending TB now and the continuous expansion of TB scale-up diagnostic centres.  According to her, “The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Sanwo-Olu is a TB champion. EXPIRED SANITIZERS/FAKE EBOLA TEST KITS SELLERS,ARRESTED BY NAFDAC.

                                                    According to the Director General of National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control {NAFDAC},Dr Pual Orhii,made these case known at a press briefing on activities of the agency at the Oshodi branch in Lagos.He said ''We wonder how some people can be so callous to make money out of the situation despite this deadly disease called Ebola.The most troubling is the case of Mr James Nnaji of 116,Oguta road,Onitsha,who imported expired brands of hand sanitisers through NAHCO Lagos.The products were soft care natural,soft care lemon,soft lavender,soft care apple,all of which had expired in December 29,2012,two years ago,but yet found their way into the country.The suspect was trailed and apprehended by the agency and upon interrogation he claimed that one Mr Lateef Bamisedun,supplied him the kits from Canada.The danger associated with the use of sub-standard hand sanitisers and untested Ebola test kits is indeed grave and could derail all efforts put in place to contain the spread of the Ebola virus disease in the country''.Hr further warned the general public not to patronize such unregistered and fake test kits and to report and suspected cases of fake and unregistered regulated products to the nearest NAFDAC office.
