 PRESS RELEASE  6TH OSOM GAMES TODAY DECLARED OPEN BY THE NSC CHAIRMAN.  The National Sports Commission (NSC) is making headlines once again with its commitment to promoting Nigerian athletes through regular internal competitions. Today, Mallam Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), declared the 6th OSOM Games open in a colourful ceremony at the Moshood Abiola International Stadium in Abuja. This statement reinforces the Commission's dedication to their Renewed Hope Initiative for Nigerian Sports Economy (RHINSE) mandate and their goal of turning sports from a field of consumption to one of production. The OSOM Games, which stands for One Service One Medal, is an inter-security agency competition that aims to foster unity and camaraderie among the various security agencies in Nigeria. TANZANIA PRESIDENT,SACKED ONE OF HIS MINISTERS FOR BEING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL DURING WORKING HOURS.

                          Charles Kitwanga,Tanzania's Home Affairs minister has been sacked by the country's president for turning up to parliament and answering questions while under the influence of alcohol.His the first minister to be fired since the cabinet's appointment.Analysts said his sack came as a surprise as he was widely viewed as being close to Magufuli.President John Magufuli,said in a statement yesterday friday that ''He was sacked after he turned up drunk to parliament and responded to a question directed to the Ministry of Home Affairs while being in a drunken state''.Kitwanga had previously faced calls to quit before the incident by lawmakers who criticized his handing of the ministry.The picture above is Charles Kitwanga,while the one below is the President of Tanzania.One more photo below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
