 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable.     Yesterday, The Queen visited the Royal Academy of Arts to officially open the new Burlington Gardens building and mark the Academy's 250th anniversary.The Royal Academy of Arts was founded in 1768 by King George III as a place to promote the appreciation and practise of the visual arts and architecture through exhibitions, education and debate. To this day, The Queen continues as the Academy's 'Patron, Protector and Supporter'.The Queen views the Royal Academy of Arts latest exhibition 'Charles I: King and Collector' - many items have been lent by the Royal Collection Trust.Her Majesty meets Sir David Chipperfield RA who designed the new Royal Academy Burlington Gardens Building.The Queen unveiled the first painting to be displayed in the new building - a self-portrait by Sir Joshua Reynolds, the first President of the Royal Academy.
The Queen is shown some George III paperwork, including the 'Instrument of Foundation', which was signed by The King on 10 December 1768.More photos below.
