 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. TRAINING OF POLICE HEALTH OFFICERS ON COVID-19 INFECTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL(IPC) IN ANAMBRA STATE.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

    Today 21/4/2020 the Nigeria Police Medical Services Anambra State Command in collaboration with National Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) organised a one day training for Police health officers on COVID-19 "infection prevention and control" in Anambra State.
Aim of the training was to enable Police health officials with the basic skills needed to prevent the spread of the dreaded corona virus among officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force who are at the forefront in the enforcement of Government order against the spread of COVID-19 which has become a global pandemic.
While addressing participants during the training session at the Command Conference hall,the Commissioner of Police *CP John B.Abang,fdc* enjoined them to pay attention to the training in order to get the requisite knowledge about the deadly virus and how to prevent it's spread through prevention and control measures for the benefits of the entire officers and men in the Command.
The training was facilitated by Dr Jane Ezeonu of NCDC and the Command Medical Officer CSP Dr Emelike Chinenyen.
