 Easter: Nigerian Govt declares Friday, Monday as public holidays The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21 as public holidays to mark Good Friday and Easter Monday. This was disclosed in a statement by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on Tuesday in Abuja. Announcing this on behalf of the Federal Government, the Minister extended heartfelt congratulations to Christians across the country on this joyous occasion. Tunji-Ojo emphasized the importance of embodying the virtues of the sacrifice and love displayed by Jesus Christ, having to die for the redemption of man. The minister urged Nigerians to use the holiday period to pray for the peace, unity, and stability of the nation. According to him, President Bola Tinubu was committed to the Renewed Hope Agenda, which seeks to strengthen national growth and development. WW2: THE PRINCE OF WALES JOINED THE PRESIDENT OF FRANCE TO CELEBRATE 80TH ANNIVERSARY.{PHOTOS}.

     Yesterday,The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall joined The President of the French Republic to celebrate the 80th anniversary of General de Gaulle’s ā€˜Appel’ to the French population to resist the German occupation of France during WWII in 1940.
šŸŽ™ļøOn 18 June 1940, General Charles de Gaulle gave his speech from the BBC Broadcasting House in London to France as the French government prepared to sign an armistice with the Nazi invaders. The message offered hope in a time of despair and is today considered the founding text of the French Resistance.
Today, Their Royal Highnesses received The President at Clarence House, before a wreath laying at the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Memorial.
In Carlton Gardens, General de Gaulle’s ā€˜Appel’ was read by Major Johanna Maljette and His Royal Highness and The President lay wreaths at the Statue of General de Gaulle.
London has been presented with the LĆ©gion d’Honneur – France’s highest distinction – for services in World War 2. šŸŽ–ļø The city provided a base for Charles de Gaulle, when he was exiled there during the war.More photos below.
