Nigeria Elites Demand Justice From The Presidential Election Tribunal

As the May 29th  date for the inauguration of the new president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria approaches, palpable tensions have escalated between the camp of the ruling party the All Progressives Congress and the opposition parties.

The presidential petition tribunal is on edge to determine which side the judgement pendulum will swing to.

The masses sure of where the bulk of their votes went to, are either praying to God for Divine intervention or thinking of alternative line of action to take after the tribunal verdict.

For one of the foremost counsels in Anambra state Chief Chike Oranye a native of Umuawulu, the best option as the situation stands today to avert anarchy,is for the postponement of the presidential inauguration until the tribunal interprets the law on who the cap fits as the duly elected president of Nigeria on February 25th 2023,or for the establishment of an interim government until the matter is determined in court.

According to Chief Oranye, there is absolute need for Nigerians to avert bloodshed and pursue peace in all ramifications.

The legal expert urged the judiciary to live up to its expectation by upholding the truth and genuinely interpreting the plethora of overwhelming evidence before it.

In a related development, a community leader from umunnachi Dr.Oliver Onwughalu expressed dismay over an alleged authoritative statement which holds that no court in Nigeria can stop the May 29th inauguration.

Describing the utterance as undemocratic, Dr.Onwughalu warned that if the inauguration holds without the full determination of the true winner of the presidential election through the tribunal, the swearing in of a new president will undermine its verdict (MOI)
